By 1975 there was something rotten with the state of rock music. It had become distant, bloated and narcissistic. But then, in 1976, a new movement in music blew away all the pompous posturing and multiple-necked guitars to deliver a period of punk, post-punk and new wave music. This high-energy music returned to the basics of a 3-4 minute song with driving rhythms, great hooks and often arresting lyrics. “Shoot the Pianist” are a band that celebrates this music and brings you an evening of these new wave classics from a vast array of bands that first performed them.
